Vince Neil cree que la condena impuesta por conducir bajo el influjo del alcohol fue «un poco dura» y que la causa principal de su sentencia fue su comportamiento anterior además del hecho que él es una estrella.
Neil se encuentra en arresto dominiciliario después de ser privado de su libertad durante dos semanas el 26 de enero, al declararse culpable por conducir bajo estado de ebriedad. Empezó su condena el 15 de febrero, y su liberación esta programada para el 2 de marzo próximo.
La voz de Mötley Crüe declaró para Las Vegas Sun, « Ellos [los tribunales] fueron un poco duros en la condena… querían hacer un ejemplo de mí, no es malo, pero sigue siendo la cárcel la cárcel es la cárcel...»
Cabe recordar que Neil fue encarcelado por 30 días en 1984 tras ser declarado culpable de homicidio involuntario después de perder el control de su automovil y chocar contra un vehículo en sentido contrario.El ex baterista de Hanoi Rocks, Nicholas Dingley murió en el incidente, y los dos ocupantes del otro vehículo resultaron heridos de gravedad.

Singer says his two-week prison sentence was ‘harsh’

Motley Crue singer Vince Neil has said he believes he was only sent to prison as the courts «wanted to make an example» out of him.
Neil was jailed for two weeks on January 26 after pleading guilty to drink-driving. He started his sentence on February 15, and is scheduled to be released on March 2. He will then be under house arrest for two weeks.
Speaking to the Las Vegas Sun, Neil said: «They [the courts] were a little harsh in the sentencing. They wanted to make an example out of me. It’s not bad, but it’s still jail. Jail is jail.»
Neil said he thinks the fact that this was his second offence for drink driving was a factor in his sentence. He served 30 days in jail in 1984 after being convicted of vehicular manslaughter after losing control of a car and crashing into an oncoming vehicle.
Former Hanoi Rocks drummer Nicholas Dingley was killed in the incident, and the two occupants of the other car were seriously injured and suffered brain damage.
Neil said: “I think just because of my past. That kind of factored into it. But I’m going to do it [prison], do my time and put it behind me and move on with my life.”
After he is released Neil has said he plans to do a solo tour and will play gigs with Motley Crue at some point in 2011.
